Charterer :
What does this term stand for?
A charterer is an individual, company, or organization that leases or hires a vessel, aircraft, or other transportation asset from its owner for the purpose of transporting goods or passengers. The charterer enters into a contractual agreement with the owner, assuming responsibility for the use of the transport asset for either a specified period or a particular voyage. This arrangement is most prevalent in maritime shipping but also applies to air freight and, less commonly, specialized land transport operations. The charterer typically manages the logistics, scheduling, and operational aspects of the transportation while paying an agreed-upon fee to the asset owner.
